Self-Care Is Key
For years, I neglected self-care and thought of it as a luxury. Ironically, as a Social Worker, I regularly recommended self-care to my struggling clients but wasn’t following my own advice. 🤷🏻♀️
Other than a trip to the spa now and then, I wasn’t doing a good job of practicing self-care. That often happens to those working in the helping professions, and I was no exception.
But the truth is that self-care is a key factor in our health and well-being.
It doesn’t have to be a two-hour routine—giving yourself a facial, soaking your feet, sitting for tea, and having peaceful alone time is all that’s needed.
I have a simple 5-minute daily routine I do in the morning, which includes prayer, deep breathing, and a few powerful self-love affirmations. Totally doable. ✅
What is Self-Care?
Self-care is what you do to take care of yourself, your health, and your overall well-being.
Eating, sleeping, and caring for our physical needs are the most basic forms of self-care. However, many women struggle to do these three things well because of competing demands and responsibilities.
These are must-have self-care items to add to your routine or to help motivate loved ones to take better care of themselves, so I’m excited to share these self-care gift ideas with you.

Listening to my body, paying attention to my mood, keeping those healthy boundaries up and making time for things I enjoy.
