Life Is Lovely And Messy
I love that quote; it’s honest and perfect for my first post. It sums up the dichotomy of life because you have to put up all of the messiness to see that lovely silver lining or lesson.
It all comes down to perspective and our own personal growth.
There’s never been a time in history when we are all bombarded with so much negativity.
Tragic news. Racism. Horrible social injustices. Fear mongering. Plus, streams of divisive stories aimed at increasing the bridge between people even further (often for political gain).
It’s disheartening. It can get quite overwhelming and depressing if you don’t try to look beyond it all and focus on how you can actually help and be a light in these dark times.
This space I’ve created on the world wide web is focused on being a positive and helpful source of information for personal growth, wellness, and most importantly living a happier life, no matter your dreams or obstacles!
Never have I been more excited to share ideas and content. I truly hope my experiences and all of the lessons, wisdom, and strategies I’ll be sharing will inspire you and help you along your path!
You have the power within you to change your life and live happier!
A Little Bit About Starting This Site
My love for blogging started while I was on maternity leave in 2013. I would browse the net looking for simple style ideas and easy recipes. It was then that I realized how much I love blogs. They are creative and fun; just what I needed.
So in 2014, I launched a fashion blog. It was a great experience, and I learned a tremendous amount. Then 2018 hit and my life took a turn after my father passed away. I took a break from blogging and focussed on reevaluating things. It was the beginning of a complicated season.
Since then, I’ve always missed blogging from the friendly community I connected with, the fabulous bloggers I met (many that I still keep in touch with through social media), and having a creative outlet of my own.
Even though I’ve contemplated getting back to it, something kept holding me back. I think I ran the course with my fashion blog. It was time for an exciting change and a fresh start.
A Fresh Start
So here I am, delving into something deeper…personal growth. I’m not a life coach; however, I have significant experience in dealing with, addressing, and coming up with creative solutions for problems and life challenges. Not only my own but also the numerous families I’ve served over the last two decades in Social Work.
Even with life being challenging the last couple of years, I’ve had many joyful times in the midst of it all. I’ve achieved goals, improved meaningful relationships, and created clear boundaries that have freed me from toxic relationships and situations.
All of this is because I’ve stayed focused on growing and evolving as a person through continued personal growth.
I’ve also learned how tragedy teaches you powerful lessons and shines the truth on people and situations. True colours have a way of coming through like a blinding light in difficult times.
I genuinely believe the seasons of suffering we all go through have a divine purpose and test who we are. It’s in those painful periods that perseverance and character will either strengthen or diminish so don’t give up.
Anywho long story short, in the past couple of years, I’ve spent more time:
Reading. Reflecting. Researching. Evolving. Faith Digging. Soul Searching. Dreaming. Then. Ever. Before. This is why I’m here.
It’s funny how things work out sometimes as I took a break for a couple of weeks from developing this site. Then something kept pushing me to finish reading a book I started but never seemed to get to.
I read the last seven chapters of the book in a few hours. By the end, the author (L. Terkeurst) talked about how sharing adversities, challenging experiences and the lessons from them can help others during their trials. It was just the message I needed to hear and validated not only my feeling that I’m on the right path but that this is also part of my purpose-helping and being of service to others.
That’s Why I’m Here
So here I am, enthusiastic, passionate, and ready to dive into personal growth and wellness topics for you to live happier.
I look forward to sharing step-by-step strategies, ideas, lessons, experiences, and some fun along the way!
I hope that it will resonate and be beneficial on your own lovely messy life journey.
